Finding an immersive way to represent Amsterdam School aesthetics while narrating historical context.

COPO is a one-of-a-kind venue that harmonizes food, drinks, and cinema into a single, immersive experience.

COPO is a multifaceted venue that seamlessly integrates contemporary dining, specialty drinks, and curated film screenings within a single immersive environment. From the outset, the vision was clear: transform everyday meals and standard movie nights into a holistic cultural experience that would appeal to both food enthusiasts and film aficionados.

As evening falls, the atmosphere transforms through carefully orchestrated lighting, creating a seamless journey from dining to entertainment. We also developed a radical brand identity that balanced culinary indulgence with artistic exploration, reflected in bespoke typography, black and white color palettes, and a visual language that transitioned smoothly from menu designs to promotional materials.

In contrast, the bathrooms serve as unexpected artistic spaces, their walls adorned with deconstructed cinema posters in homage to Mimmo Rotella's décollage technique. This concentrated burst of visual energy in an otherwise restrained environment creates a surprising and memorable moment within the guest experience.

To emphasize COPO’s dual nature, we incorporated subtle film-inspired motifs within the interior design, such as strategically placed spotlights and illustrative accents reminiscent of vintage cinemas, yet carefully avoided any clichés that might overshadow the dining aspect.

This union of gastronomy and cinema not only set COPO apart in a competitive hospitality market but also established it as a creative hub where guests can immerse themselves in a culinary-arts narrative that evolves with each visit.
