The Expo City 2022 Dubai site presented unique wayfinding challenges due to its massive scale and multicultural visitor base. Antonello Livrano, included in Space Design Agency team for the occation needed to create and render an updated 3D Map for Expo City Dubai after the event, in order to provice an intuitive navigation system that would guide the visitors through multiple pavilions, plazas, and public spaces of the inedite neighboorhood while respecting local cultural heritage.
The comprehensive 3D mapping solution included detailed renderings of the buldings and the pavillion, integrating seamlessly with the overall wayfinding system and the parkings. The maps were strategically positioned at key decision points, helping visitors navigate the complex multi-level parking structure while maintaining connection with the above-ground attractions.
The parking wayfinding system incorporated color-coded zones and numerical sectors, complemented by digital displays showing real-time parking availability. Each level featured distinctive Al Sadu-inspired patterns and illuminated directional signage, ensuring clear navigation both during day and night operations.
Implementation included smart parking guidance systems with LED indicators, integration with the Expo 2020 mobile app for location tracking, and clear pathways to multiple access points connecting to the main Expo areas. The system successfully managed the flow of thousands of vehicles while maintaining the project's cultural and aesthetic standards.
